Colleen Gregory

Colleen M. Gregory, 87, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at Parkview Heights Living Center in Garnett, Kansas. Colleen was born March 10, 1930 to Arthur B. and Hilda K. Rockers in Garnett, Kansas. She graduated from Garnett High School in 1948 and attended nurses training in Kansas City, Missouri. Colleen was united in marriage to Robert O. Gregory in Kansas City, Missouri on March 1, 1951. They lived the majority of their married life in Paola, Kansas. Colleen worked for many years at the Miami County Clinic in Paola. After moving to Manhattan, she completed her associates degree from Kansas State University as well as her Certified Physical Therapy Assistant in the early 1980’s. Colleen enjoyed working in her rose garden, going for walks and bird watching. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She always carried herself with grace, but those who knew her well also got to experience her ornery side. Colleen was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers Bill and Les Rockers; sister Edith Miller; and great granddaughter Morgan Heger. She is survived by her brother Merle Rockers; sisters Lavon Mariz and Joella Rockers; children Sandra (J.C.) Jentzsch, Carol (Harvey) Brocker, Robert II (Sheri) Gregory, Dorothy (Donald) Powell, and William (Kathleen) Gregory; 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Contributions may be made in Colleen’s memory to Holy Trinity Church or the Alzheimer's Association in care of Dengel & Son Mortuary, Paola, KS.
