Clio Church, 90, passed away Friday, February 28, 2014, at her home in Pomona, Kansas, with her children by her side. Cremation is planned. Family will meet with friends for a graveside service at Munsee Cemetery, 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 10, 2014. Clio was born on Wednesday, October 31, 1923 in Richter, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph and Grace (Chaney) Caleb. She was a lifelong Franklin County resident, living in Pomona since 1978, moving from Rural Ottawa. On August 1, 1947 Clio was united in marriage with Ralph Church in Salina, Kansas. He preceded her in death on October 2, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Shirley Caleb; two brothers, Joe and George Caleb; two sisters, Mable Murray and Betty Jean Hollon; and two grandsons, Eric Chapman and Caleb Larsh. Survivors include her three children, Sandra King and husband Joe, Sara Pabst and husband Doug, and Jeff Church, all of Pomona; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and two sisters, Carol Marks, and Pat Thomas both of Pomona. She was a devoted lifelong homemaker. Clio and her family worked toward Munsee Tribe recognition for many years.
