Clifford Witt

Clifford Warren Witt, 85, Paola, died March 26, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Spring Hill. Clifford was born October 5, 1927, to Beryl and Lenore Witt. He attended and graduated from Paola High School and then enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1946. He met Erma Presley and they married in 1948. They made their home in DeSoto, Kansas then moved to the Paola area in 1953 where they currently live near the Chiles area. He was a pipefitter at the Hercules Army Ammunition Plant for over 30 years before retiring. He was a lifelong farmer and loved raising cattle. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Loralee, an infant brother, a son, Donald and a grandson, Jason. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Erma Witt; a son Ronald Witt (Susan) of Paola; a daughter Susan Fort (Rick) of Leavenworth; 5 grandchildren Shelly Sublette of Roanoke, TX, Jennifer Bollinger of Paola, Tyler Witt of Ada, OK, and Hayden and Kara Fort of Leavenworth; and 6 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer"s Association on behalf of his wife.
