Clark Valentine, 73, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022, at AdventHealth Ottawa. Cremation is planned and no services are scheduled. Clark was born March 13, 1948, at Garnett, Kansas, the son of Raymond C. and Emma (Swisher) Valentine. He grew up in Garnett, moving to Ottawa in 1972. He graduated from Garnett High School with the Class of 1966. After graduation, Clark served in the United States Army during Vietnam from April 1968 to January 1970. He attained the rank of Specialist 4. Clark continued his education at Allen County Community College graduating in 1972 with an Associate of Arts in Commercial Art. On August 24, 1968, Clark was united in marriage to Karen Wittman at Garnett. Clark was employed with Plumbers & Pipefitters Local #441 for 35 years. He worked as a welder/pipefitter, retiring in 2009. He liked fishing, watching baseball and sports on TV, and going to the casino. Above all, Clark loved going to the grandchildren’s sporting events and being with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Phyllis McIlvain. Survivors include his wife Karen Valentine of the home; two children, Brandon Valentine (Susie) of Olathe, Kansas, and Sara Waxmonski of Ottawa; and three grandchildren, Ashley Valentine, Kourtney Valentine, and Peityn Waxmonski.
