Clarice E Mclaughlin

Clarice E. McLaughlin, 89, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at North Point in Paola, Kansas.

Funeral service will be held 2:00pm, Monday, June 17, 2024, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Family will greet friends from 1:00-2:00pm prior to services.

Interment Wellsville Cemetery, Wellsville, Kansas.

Clarice was born Tuesday, January 8, 1935 in Wellsville, Kansas, the daughter of Emery and Ethel (Sumner) Mignot.

She lived in Garnett, Kansas for many years growing up in the Wellsville area.

Clarice graduated from Wellsville High School with the class of 1953.

She was united in marriage in the early 1950’s to Raymond Lee Brady, they later divorced. Clarice was then united in marriage in the early 1980’s to Tom McLaughlin. He preceded her in death.

Clarice was a dedicated homemaker and worked as a CNA for several local nursing homes.

She was a former member of the Garnett Assembly of God Church in Garnett, Kansas. Clarice enjoyed singing, especially gospel music and reading, mainly the bible. She loved taking care of her family and spending time with them and her grandchildren.

Along with her husband Tom, Clarice was preceded in death by parents Emery and Ethel; daughter Linda Diane Newell; sister Dorothy L. Seyler; and brother Floyd Mignot.

Survivors include son Raymond Dale “Dale” Brady (Tina) of Paola, Kansas; daughter Clarenda Hendricks of Gardner, Kansas; son-in-law Tim Newell of Lawrence, Kansas; brothers Robert Mignot of Vassar, Kansas and Arthur Mignot (Carol) of Baldwin City, Kansas; sister Pauline Henry of Ottawa, Kansas; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
