Clarence Lee Graves was called home to Jesus on June 18, 2021. He was born October 8, 1931 in Osawatomie Kansas to Charles Lee Graves and Bertha (Billie) Gooden. He graduated from Osawatomie High School. He met his sweetheart on a blind date and was united in marriage to Jean Elois McDaniel on December 30, 1950 in Paola. He served 9 years in the Army National Guard in Paola. Clarence was a man of deep faith and many talents and was constantly involved in some type of project or activity. His professional careers included laying carpet, flooring and countertops, insurance agent, and electronics technician. He even built a tv in his earlier years. He loved to fish, play his guitar and study the bible. He was an active participant in his church for many years and often taught bible classes. He was a carpenter, adding on a garage to his house, building cabinets, beautiful display cases, remodeling homes, and helping family with their remodeling projects. He also carved airplanes and walking sticks. He was a man with the answer to many “how to” questions. Over the years he camped from Missouri to California, fished in many ponds, lakes and rivers, and rode his motorcycle around the area. He had a green thumb, nurturing plants both inside and outside his home. He loved his family and loved having them around him. He is survived by his wife Jean Graves of Paola; sons Dennis Graves (Mary) of Overbrook, Kansas, Tim Graves (Kathy) of Ottawa, Kansas, and David Graves (Alice – deceased) of Minden Louisiana. He leaves behind seven grandchildren; Denise Janda, Shawna Guyett, Erica Robinson, John David Graves, Jessica Dunn, Sarah Montano, and Rachael Graves. He has 18 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Annabelle Ballew of El Reno, Oklahoma, and Sharon Goforth of Williams, California. Preceeding him in death were his parents, his sister Charlene Goyer, brother Willis (Bill) Graves, infant sister Madonna Mae, and daughter-in-law Alice Graves Visitation will be at 10:00 am with a funeral service at 11:00 on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Cross Point Assembly of God Church at 1016 N. Pearl Street, Paola Kansas. Interment will be at Scott Valley Cemetery, near Hillsdale Lake, Miami County Kansas. Memorial contributions can made to Olathe Health Hospice House in care of Dengel and Son Mortuary, 305 N. Pearl, Paola, Kansas 66071.
