Clara E. Hinman, 93, of Williamsburg, Kansas, passed away Monday, October 16, 2017, at Ottawa Retirement Village. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, October 19, 2017, at Fairview Cemetery, Niotaze, Chautauqua County, Kansas. Family will meet with friends immediately follow the service at the Niotaze Community Building. Mrs. Hinman will lie in state from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Clara was born Saturday, March 8, 1924 in Niotaze, Kansas, the daughter of Henry H. and Nellie B. (Fulton) Farris. She lived in Niotaze and the Cascade community in Kansas before moving in 2011 to Williamsburg. She graduated from Peru High School with the class of 1942. Clara was united in marriage to Wilbert E. Hinman April 27, 1951, at Independence, Kansas. He preceded her in death on November 4, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Nellie Farris; and brothers, Carl Farris and Paul Farris. Survivors include her daughter, Lucinda “Cindy” Hamilton and husband Frank of Williamsburg; son, Henry E. “Ed” Hinman and wife Pam of Niotaze; three grandchildren, Tonya Roberts of Lane, April Hall of Gardner, and Kenny Dehn also of Gardner; and four great grandchildren. She served as secretary and treasurer for the Cascade community for many years and was a member of the Niotaze Senior Citizens. Clara was a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and was known for her divinity.
