Cindy L. Blanco-Ferguson, 62, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at Olathe Hospice House. Family will meet with friends from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Monday, February 13, 2017, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at the mortuary. Inurnment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, following services. Cindy was born Tuesday, August 10, 1954, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Willard H. “Wid” and Pauline F. (Soper) Ogle. She was raised by her step-father, Wayne A. Leach. She was a near lifelong Ottawa resident, having lived a short time in Marysville, Kansas, during her childhood. She attended schools in Marysville and Ottawa. Cindy was united in marriage with Gary Wayne Blanco August 17, 1970, in Ottawa. They divorced after 27 years of marriage. She later married Jim Ferguson, they also divorced. Survivors include her two sons, Joshua Blanco and wife Laurie of Ottawa, and Justin Blanco and wife Jessica also of Ottawa; brother, Larry Leach of Homewood; sister, Jill Geist of Lawrence; several step siblings; six grandchildren, Katelyn Blanco, Payton Blanco, Hannah Blanco, Max Blanco, Kendall Blanco, and Dawson Blanco; and one great-granddaughter, Mira Wilson. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Candice Michelle Blanco; parents, Wid and Pauline Ogle; and step-father, Wayne Leach. Cindy worked in board assembly and shipping inspection at Bendix King Radio in Ottawa and later, Honeywell Aerospace of Olathe, retiring after 32 years of employment in 2009. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Aerie Lodge 2700 Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed her vegetable and flower gardens, feeding birds and spending time outdoors. She was known for being a good cook. Cindy had an amazing sense of humor and a genuine care and concern for others. Most of all, she cherished her grandchildren.
