Christopher Lynn Gagnon, 62, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 6, 2015. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 13, 2015, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Emerald community, Williamsburg, Kansas. Visitation and rosary will precede the mass. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Emerald. Chris was born May 19, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Garry and Emily (Redman) Gagnon. He was raised in Independence, Missouri, where he graduated from Van Horn High School in 1971. Chris, a veteran of the United States Air Force, was trained in electronics. After serving in the Air Force, he worked on a range of specialized equipment, electronic repair, maintenance, systems for manufacturing and industrial firms, as well as the home service industry. As a youth, Chris was an avid Boy Scout at Nativity of Mary Church in Independence, Missouri. As an adult, he was involved in scouting leadership with the troop at Holy Cross Church in Kansas City, Missouri, and later organized a scout troop in Mirable, Missouri. He was also a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 1110, St. Munchins, Cameron, Missouri and member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. Chris had a love for music and enjoyed playing guitar, banjo and keyboard instruments. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, culinary arts, and flying, holding a commercial class pilots license. Chris is survived by his parents, Garry and Emily Gagnon of Independence, Missouri; children, Chris Gagnon and wife Heather of St. Joe, Missouri, Joe Gagnon and wife Kendra of Lathrop, Missouri, John Gagnon and wife Christina of Olathe, and Delila Silvers and fiancé Chez Runyon of Odessa, Missouri; siblings, Anne Jewell of Marion, Iowa, Karen Eagle and husband David of Independence, Missouri, Glen Gagnon and wife Joan of Emerald, Kansas, Gene Gagnon and wife Yong of Oak Grove, Missouri, and Dennis Gagnon and wife Gail of Columbia, Missouri; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Michael’s Veterans Center or St. Patrick’s Cemetery c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
