Chris Alan Grandon

Chris Alan Grandon, age 64, of Paola, KS, passed away unexpectedly at his home on October 16, 2024.

Chris was born April 21, 1960, in Paola, KS to Don and Phyllis (Hink) Grandon. While Chris was still a toddler, the family moved to Overland Park, KS where he attended school and graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in 1978.

Shortly after graduation, Chris went to work for North Supply, a division of Sprint Corporation in Dallas, TX. After a short time he transferred to their Gardner, KS facility from which he retired.

Chris married his childhood sweetheart, Diane Oxley, on May 2, 1981. They became parents of two children, Trevor and Stephanie.

After his marriage to Diane ended, he met and married Shelly Earley.

Chris loved all things to do with water; boating, skiing, and fishing.

After retirement he purchased a building off the Paola square which he renovated. Chris was very creative and could always find a solution for any problem, especially when it had to do with construction.

Chris had a great sense of humor. He was always available to help someone and to donate his time and abilities to his church. Chris deeply loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Chris was preceded in death by his father, Don Grandon, his sister, Brenda Grandon, grandparents, Roy and Ruby Grandon and Earl and Wynona Hink. He is survived by his children, Trevor and Stephanie, and two grandchildren, his mother and step-father, Phyllis and Ron Hollinger, his brothers, Greg (Sherry) Grandon and Brad (Kim) Grandon, step-sister, Ann (Jim) Shull, step-brother, Steve (Cindy) Hollinger, and many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by family and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Living Proof Church of Paola.
