Charles William Demoret, 84, of Simi Valley, California, formerly of Princeton, Kansas, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Kansas. Family is to meet with friends immediately following the services at the Princeton Community Building, 1535 Highway 59, Princeton. Charles was born February 17, 1933, in Princeton, Kansas, the son of Charles William and Viola Elsie (Souders) Demoret. He graduated from Princeton High School with the class of 1951. Charles later attended Kansas State University where he received his Bachelor in Agriculture and Applied Science in 1960. Charles served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1956 in Germany. He was united in marriage to Ferne Ione Kindall in St. Francis, Kansas on June 2, 1957. She preceded him in death February 16, 2007. Charles worked for the Federal Drug Administration as an Inspector. He then moved to the Consumer Product Safety Commission as a Commissioner. He and his wife moved from Kansas City, Kansas to Simi Valley, California in 1968. In 1982, Charles was transferred to the San Francisco office. He and his family moved to Hayward & Dublin, in the Bay area for the next six years. In 1988, Charles retired after 35 years from his work with the Federal Government. After retirement, Charles and Ferne moved back to their home in Simi Valley, California. Survivors include his two sons, Lonnie Demoret and wife Jolene, and Wesley Demoret; daughter, Cathie Cook; grandchildren, Michael Demoret, Kimberly Demoret, and Andrew Cook; great grandchildren, Jessie Demoret, Brianna Demoret, Blake Demoret, and Landon Thomasson; sister, Flossie Phillips and husband Chester “Chet”; brother, Bill Demoret and wife Phyllis, in-laws, David and Charlotte Kindall, and Allen Kindall. Charles was also preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Viola Demoret; brother, Floyd “Bud” Demoret and wife Delores; sister Vera Phillips and and husband Theran “Spike”; granddaughter, Denise Thomasson; son-in-law, Ted Cook; and brother-in-law, Myron Lee Kindall. He enjoyed traveling by car around the U.S., attending the Grand Ole Opry, coaching flag football for his growing children, and bowling. Most of all, Charles loved to spend time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
