Charles W. Brazeal, 78, of Lawrence, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Parkway Care and Rehabilitation Center, Edwardsville, Kansas. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 12, 2020, at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Williamsburg, Kansas Charles was born November 10, 1941 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Robert Earl and Mildred Louise (Haynie) Brazeal. He was a long time Homewood, Kansas area resident. Charles was united in marriage to Karen Kay Wilcox May 7, 1962 at Maple Hill, Kansas. They were married 51 years. She preceded him in death on April 14, 2014. He was later united in marriage to Shirley NaNier Brown September 24, 2016. She preceded him in death. He was a long-time concrete finisher owning his own concrete business, Brazeal Construction. Charles also raised, bred, trained, and sold Arabian horses. He served in the United States Army in the early 1960’s. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and 3 grandchildren born to his daughter Crystal. Cynthia Kay Reedy, William Lee Reedy and David Shannon Reedy. Survivors include three children, Crystal Kay (Michael) Lott of Pryor, Oklahoma, Charles William (Kimberly) Brazeal, Jr. of Lenexa, Jeffrey Wade Brazeal of Lawrence; three grandchildren, Diana Renee (Cory) Matlock of Burlington, Stephen Michael (Sara) Booth of Douglass, Kansas, Joshua Allen Michael Brazeal of Lawrence and fourteen great grandchildren.
