Charles Ronald “Ron” McNaughton, age 69, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Monday, August 10, 2020, at Olathe Medical Center. Cremation is planned. Family will meet with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 17, 2020, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Ron was born May 17, 1951, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the son of Charles H. and Edith (Boothe) McNaughton. He has lived in Ottawa for the last 20 years. In 1978 to 2000, Ron lived in Harrisonville, Missouri, and from 1973 to 1977 in Hermosa Beach, California. He graduated from Shawnee Mission West with the class of 1969 and continued his education at Pittsburg State University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology. Ron was employed 13 years at the Nissan Motor Corporation. He was a district service representative serving four states: Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, and Nebraska in the 1970’s and 1980’s. He was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church and served as an Acolyte. Ron was a former member of the Harrisonville Optimist Club. He was a youth soccer coach and started the high school soccer program at Harrisonville. Ron enjoyed surfing in California, fishing and working on cars. Above all, he enjoyed family and the times they spent together. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include two sons, Chris McNaughton of Carroll, Nebraska, and Dustin (Amy) McNaughton of Benton, Arkansas; three step children, Pat (Lola) Ryan of Chandler, Arizona, Parvaneh Daneshmand of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Parissa Daneshmand of Boston, Massachusetts; sister, Judy (Jay) Hildreth of Wamego, Kansas; and granddaughter, Abigail McNaughton of Benton, Arkansas. The family suggests memorial contributions to Grace Episcopal Church c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
