Charles R. Adams Sr.

Charles "Ron" Adams Sr., age 77, passed away October 17, 2012 at Pinnacle Ridge Care Center in Olathe, Kansas. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. To leave a message for the family please visit the guest book. Ron was born on October 19, 1934 in Chillicothe, Missouri to Charles Elmer and Hazel Adams. He grew up in the Kansas City area graduating from East High School in 1951. On October 17, 1953 he was united in marriage to Barbara Toncray in Osawatomie, Kansas. Ron and Barbara made their home in Kansas City, Missouri until moving to rural Paola in 1991. He was employed for many years as an Electronic Technician and Supervisor with Western Electric/AT&T before his retirement. Ron enjoyed traveling with his wife around the country and especially going to the Kansas City Chiefs training camps. He also enjoyed playing golf and attending family events. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Barbara, one son Bryan, one sister Shirley, and two brothers Richard and John. Survivors are his children Charles R. Adams Jr. and wife Linda of Ft. Worth, Texas, Bret Adams and wife Sally of DeBary, Florida, Kim Backman and husband Mike of Olathe, Kansas; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and one sister Jean Brooks of Overland Park, Kansas.
