Charles Melvin Weber, Sr., 87, of Williamsburg, Kansas, passed away Monday, March 4, 2024, at Richmond Healthcare & Rehabilitation, Richmond, Kansas.

Services will be held 10:00 am, Friday, March 8, 2024, at Richmond United Methodist Church, Richmond, Kansas.

Family will greet friends 5:30-7:30 pm, Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa, Kansas.

Inurnment Richmond Cemetery, Richmond, Kansas, at a later date.

Charles was born Sunday, January 3, 1937 in Garnett, Kansas, the son of Dale M. and Esther C. (Demoret) Weber. He resided in the Centerville, Kansas, area until his marriage.

He has lived in Homewood, Kansas since 1968, moving there from Richmond, Kansas. Charles had also previously lived in the Richter community.

Charles graduated from Blue Mound High School, Blue Mound, Kansas with the class of 1955.

He was united in marriage on July 27, 1957, in Richmond, Kansas, to Mary Jane Finley. She survives of the home.

Charles worked as a farm hand from 1957-1965, and as a welder for Skyhook in Ottawa from 1965-1972. After employment with Skyhook, Charles was employed by Mock Motors as head mechanic until he retired in 2002.

He attended the Princeton United Methodist Church and the Centerville Community Church.

Charles had a passion for working on cars and diesel engines. He also loved working on his farm and being outdoors, but especially enjoyed his time spent with his family and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dale and Esther and twin brothers Howard Weber and Joe Weber.

Survivors include wife Mary; four children Charles Melvin Weber, Jr. (Valorie) of Box Elder, South Dakota, Mary Strickell (Earl) of Osawatomie, Kansas, John Weber of Homewood, Kansas, and Ricky Weber (Connie) of Richmond, Kansas; ten grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Centerville Community Betterment Fund c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
