Charlie moved with his family from Montana to Kansas in 1936 and to Ottawa in 1946. Charlie attended Richmond High School and CCC Camp (Civilian Conservation Corp.), and later earned a General Equivalency Diploma in 1971. Charlie worked for Jack Amos Tree Trimming Company from 1946 until 1949; Santa Fe Railroad from 1949 until 1953; Burlingham & Cox Plumbing, as a master plumber, thirty years, and, during that time, also worked for Warren White Plumbing, managing the business several years; and, fifteen years for the State of Kansas, as a mechanical engineer, retiring in 1988. Charlie served in the United States Army from during WWII. He was a member of the 112 New Jersey Field Artillery 696th Battalion, 4th Armored Division. His tour of duty included the European Theater of Operations, Normandy Invasion, and Battle of the Buldge. Charlie was a lifetime member of American Legion Fuller Thompson Post #48, Garnett; Veterans of Foreign Wars, Memorial Post #5901, Ottawa; charter member of Ottawa Coin & Stamp Club; life member of the National Rifle Association; and, worked with Cub and Boy Scouts for many years. On March 11, 1950, Charlie was united in marriage with Henrietta Elizabeth `Happy` Miltz at Ottawa. She survives of their home. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from Dengel & Son Mortuary 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2003. OFFICIANT: Marvin E. Ross. IN STATE: Mr. Falls will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday , and after 1:00 p.m. Sunday at Dengel & Son Mortuary to service hour, where the family will meet with friends 6:00 to 7:00 Sunday evening.
