Charles Leonard Vogeler, 62, of Gardner, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 13, 2017, at Highland Cemetery. Charles was born Wednesday, September 15, 1954, in Butler, Missouri, the son of Arthur and Inez (Johnson) Vogeler. He was a near lifelong Franklin County resident. Survivors include his daughter, Angela (Vogeler) Hulse of Independence; six siblings, Janet Stewart and husband Blaine of Ottawa, Ricky Vogeler and wife Becky of Ottawa, Walter Vogeler and significant other Melinda Lear of Ottawa, Joyce Johnson and Rudy of Currie, North Carolina, Bob Vogeler and wife Esther of Branson, Missouri, and Wayne Vogeler and wife Carol of Chico, Texas; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Hulse, Maxwell Hulse, and Buddy Hulse; great-granddaughter, Addie Hulse; and oodles of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Inez Vogeler; and sister, Charlotte JoAnne Vogeler. Growing up, Charles enjoyed fishing, hunting wildlife and Morel mushrooms. He also enjoyed going to garage sales, listening to '60s rock and roll, playing electric and acoustic guitar, and above all, spending time with family and friends.
