Charles Franklin “Chuck” Peed, 92, of Williamsburg, Kansas passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 2, 2013. Friends may pay their respects to Mr. Peed at the mortuary after 9:00 A.M. Friday, to the service hour where the family will meet with friends from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M. Friday. Interment St. John’s Cemetery, Homewood, Kansas. Charles was born on Saturday, August 13, 1921 in Williamsburg, the son of Neil and Marie (Kinney) Peed. He graduated from Williamsburg High School with the class of 1940. He lived on the family farm his entire life. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa, Kansas. On April 21, 1947 Charles was united in marriage with Maxine Thompson at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa. She preceded him in death on February 13, 2012, after nearly sixty-five years of marriage. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed farming, horses and miniature donkeys, John Deere tractors, telling jokes and visiting with people. Chuck is survived by his daughter, Joyce Coll of Villa Rica, Georgia; son, Francis Peed and his wife Midge of Williamsburg; four grandchildren, Chad Peed and his wife Randi of Baldwin City, Kansas, Christina Ross and her husband Kenny of Villa Rica, Georgia, Jennifer Hill and her husband Ryan of Berryton, Kansas and Jason Peed of Prague, Czech Republic; and six great grandchildren, Kyle and Katlyn Ross, Tyler and Austin Hill, Lila Ross and Adrian Peed. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents. The family suggests memorial contributions to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or St. John's Cemetery c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
