Charles Edward “Charlie” Cunningham, 79, passed away June 25, 2022, at his home in Lane, Kansas after a long illness. Graveside inurnment services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 1, 2022, at Greeley Cemetery, Greeley, Kansas. Charlie was born in Greeley, Kansas on November 22, 1942, the son of Ora and Ida (Williams) Cunningham. He graduated from Lane High School with the class of 1961. He met the love of his life Kathryn “Katie” Houston. They were married 60 years and blessed with 2 sons Kenneth and Steve. Charles worked in drywall most of his life before he retired. He worked hard to provide for his family. After moving around for the first few years, they finally settled down in Lane to raise their family. Charles loved to raise cattle and cut wood on his land. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Roy, Raymond, Eugene and William; and three sisters, Myrtle Gallick, Doris Barrett, and Laura Becker. Survivors include his wife, Katie; two sons, Kenneth (Karen) and Steve; three grandchildren, Kandon (Cassie), Kendra (Kevin) and Kyler; eight great grandchildren, Kolby, Adrian, Isaiah, Brayden, Cooper, Jaxon, Parker and Kylie; two sisters, Viola Ralston and Mary Damman; and many nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorial contributions to Franklin County Cancer Foundation c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
