Charles J. "C.J." Chevalier, age 84, of Cleveland, MO, passed away on May 2, 2015 at Golden Years Nursing Home, Harrisonville, MO. He was born April 4, 1931 in Marshall, MO, the son of Henry and Mary A. (Dillon) Chevalier. He was united in marriage to Connie M. Nold. C. J. worked for J.E. Dunn Construction Company before retiring. He also was a farmer and cattleman spending many long hours working the land and enjoying his time on the farm with his cattle. C.J. served his country in the United States Army, receiving a Purple Heart Medal for being wounded in the line of duty during the Korean War. He was a member of the Cass-Jackson Cattleman"s Association, Wea Men"s Club, Knights of Columbus, Disabled American Veterans Association, Korean War Veterans Association,VFW Post 7348 and Louisburg American Legion Post # 250. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Shirley Mechede, one brother, James Chevalier and step daughter, Anita Vogel-Hyde. He is survived by his wife, Connie Chevalier, sons, Dan Chevalier, Bruce Chevalier (Sherie); Jerry Chevalier (Lori); step-children, Sherry Hendricks (Randy); Trent Vogel (Judy) and Jolene Vogel; and a large number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family suggests contributions to the church, Queen of the Holy Rosary Wea School, or Louisburg VFW.
