Charles Duane Bud Harrison was born on Saturday, July 14, 1928, in Ottawa, Kansas. He was the son of Fred Forest and Hazel (Ely) Harrison. A lifelong Franklin County, Kansas resident, Charles made his home in Ottawa until his death on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at the age of eighty-three years. Charles attended Ottawa High School. He worked as a custodian for Gardner-Edgerton Elementary School, retiring in 1993. With his outgoing, cheerful personality, and sense of humor, the elementary children loved visiting with Charles. Charles enjoyed spending time with his family and visiting with his many friends. He was dearly loved by his family. He is survived by two sisters, Shirley J. Fischer of Ottawa, Kansas, Nathalee Linden and her husband, Don, of Overbrook, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Harrison is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Forest and Hazel Harrison; sister, Dorothy Marie Gifford; and nephew, Barry Gifford. FUNERAL SERVICES: 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Dengel & Son Mortuary. INSTATE: Mr. Harrison will lie instate after 9 A.M. Friday at Dengel & Son Mortuary, where the family wil meet with friends Friday evening 7-8.
