Charles Richard Bryant, 65, of Vassar, Kansas died on Saturday, November 22, 2008, at Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center in Topeka, Kansas.   He was born on Tuesday, June 29, 1943, in Middletown, Ohio.   He was the son of Denzel and Pauline (Triplett) Bryant.  He lived in Vassar the past ten years, moving from Colorado Springs where he had lived from 1986 to 1998. Chuck graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1961.  He earned his college education while serving in the Air Force. Chuck served twenty-six years in the United States Air Force, serving three tours of overseas duty. He was a member and trustee of Vassar United Methodist Church; life member of Air Force Sergeant’s Association; life member of North Carolina PTA; and zone chairman of MD17-O Lions Club.  He was well known for building and showing antique autos and street rods.  On July 15, 1962, Chuck was united in marriage with Margaret A. “Margo” Dowdy in Ottawa, Kansas.  She survives of their home. Survivors include: Wife-Margaret A. Margo (Dowdy) Bryant of the home Daughter-Venessa Bryant-Johnson of Omaha, NE Daughter-Vicki Bryant of Denver, Colo. Granddaughter-Briana Johnson of Omaha, NE He was preceded in death by: Father-Denzel C. Bryant Mother-Pauline (Triplett) Bryant   SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at Vassar United Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2008. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mr. Bryant at the Dengel & Son Mortuary from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday.  The family will meet with friends at Vassar United Methodist Church from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Saturday prior to the services. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas. MEMORIALS:  The family suggests memorial contributions to Vassar United Methodist Church, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
