Cecil Edith Swanson age 95 of Paola, passed away Sunday February 15, at Country Club Estates in Paola. Funeral Services will be Wednesday Feruary 18th at 11:00AM with visitation prior from 10 to 11 at the Penwell-Gabel Paola Chapel, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church 207 E. Wea, Paola, KS. to leave condolences go to www.penwellgabel.com Cecil was born in Marion County on April 3, 1913 to Robert Lee and Nellie A. Phillips Whitford. She was married to Carl Alvin Swanson on September 3, 1933 in Cottonwood Falls KS. Cecil worked for the Goldie Peak Nursing Home, Lakemary Center, and various domestic jobs, in and around Paola. She was an active ember of the First Baptist Church in Paola where she had taught Sunday School classes and was actively involved with Women"s Circle Groups. Cecil is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Ronald, and five brothers and four sisters. Survivors include a son Warren and wife Helen Swanson of Liberty, MO. daughter, Myrna Swanson of Arkansas City, KS. daughter-in-law Dixie Swanson of Fairbanks, Alaska, three grandchildren, Ruth Swanson of Seattle, Washington, Leanne Kephardt of Orrick, Missouri and Sam Stanton, Richmond, Missouri., 5 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
