Cathy S. Currant

Cathy S. Currant, 43, Ottawa, died Monday, Aug. 31, 2009. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. She was born Monday, March 21, 1966, at Ottawa to Alvin F. and Carolyn (Wadkins) Currant. She was a lifelong Ottawa resident. She graduated from Ottawa High School in 1984. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter and family. She worked as a personal care attendant for Hometeam of Kansas. Survivors inclde a daughter, Alyssa Ann Kennington, Ottawa; sisters, Kim Hale, Ottawa, and Tamera Griffin, Lee’s Summit, Mo.; brothers, Ronald F. Currant, Wichita, and Doyle W. Currant, Ottawa; stepbrothers, Tom Blankenbeker, Boston, Mass., Ron West, Lawrence, and Randy West, Ottawa; grandmother, Eula Wadkins, Ottawa; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin F. Currant; mother, Carolyn (Wadkins) Currant; daughter, Kaley Paige Currant and grandparents, Aethel Wadkins, Elva Currant and Ivan Currant. Cremation is planned. A private family inurnment will be at a later date at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Memorial contributions may be sent to Cathy S.
