Catherine Welch

Catherine A. Welch, age 82, of Paola passed away January 20, 2015 at her home. Catherine was born on 26 August 1932 in rural Miami County, Kansas, the third child of Frank and Dorothy McDaniel Baldwin. On 5 August 1961, she was united in marriage to PFC Milton Welch in the Spring Hill Church of Christ. To this union, two sons were born; Kenneth Warren and Daniel Paul. Prior to this marriage, she gave birth to Dorothy LaVonne Baldwin and Michael Joe Brogoto. At the age of 36, she took on the job of raising a granddaughter, Carrie Michelle Baldwin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank in 1967 and Dorothy in 1968; son, Kenneth in 2006; daughter, Dorothy LaVonne in 2010; two brothers, Kenneth in 1944 and Roy Ivan in 1991; one grandson, Justin Michael in 2014. She is survived by her husband, Milton; sons Daniel Paul Welch and Michael Joe Brogoto; daughter, Carrie Williamson; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and many cousins and friends. Memorials may be made to the Spring Hill Church of Christ or American Heart Association. A family meal will follow the service in the basement.
