Catherine Mary (Cooper) Hunter, age 95, Louisburg, KS, passed away August 22, 2014 at Kansas City Hospice House. Catherine was born November 22, 1918 in Wichita, KS to Natalie and Percy Cooper, the middle of six children. She grew up during the depression era and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1936. There after she married Russell James Hunter in 1941 and experienced the WWII years in California while he was at sea in the Navy. After the war Catherine and Russ settled down in Wichita. They had two children, Rebecca Ann (1950) and Craig Anthony (1953). Catherine lived as a "shining light" to friends and family with her kind example and dignified demeanor. She most loved her family and also enjoyed playing cards, sewing, music, and traveling to Branson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell, son, Craig and five brothers and sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Becky Thorpe, Paola, KS, ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
