Catherine Coffey

Catherine Renee Coffey, 31, of LaCygne, Ks, died October 6, 2013 at her home. She was born March 13, 1982 at Shawnee Mission, KS, the daughter of James Coffey and Melanie (Smotherman) Coffey. Katie graduated from Louisburg High School with the class of "2000". She drove a school bus for USD 416 before entering into nursing school. She graduated from Brown Mackie College in 2008 with a Registered Nursing Degree. Katie worked as a home health nurse for the past four years before getting sick. She wore many hats and loved to care for small children, especially Ethan. She was preceded in death by one sister, Angel Marie Coffey; grandparents, Junior and Betty Coffey and grandfather, J. T. Blair. Survivors include her father, James Coffey, LaCygne, KS; her mother, Melanie Coffey, LaCygne, KS; grandmother, Catherine Blair-Green, Meridian, Idaho; grandfather, Howard Smotherman, Salton City, CA; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
