Carolyn “Sue” Everson, 67, of Woodward, Oklahoma, formerly of Ottawa, Kansas passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013. Funeral services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 17, 2013. Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Everson at Dengel & Son Mortuary after 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 16, 2013, where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas. Sue was born on November 3, 1945 in Ottawa, the daughter of Joe and Lenore (Hartpense) Scott. She was a near lifelong resident of Ottawa, living in Woodward, Oklahoma for the past eight years. She attended Ottawa High School with the class of 1963. On October 21, 1998 Sue was united in marriage with Danny Everson in Princeton, Kansas. He survives of their home. Sue worked as the executive director of the Outreach Homeless Shelter in Woodward, for the past six years. While living in Ottawa she worked for Litwin’s Department Store for ten years; King Radio in the mid 1980’s to early 1990’s. She was a lifelong member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #5901, Aerie Lodge #2700 Ladies Auxiliary. She participated in various charitable events in Woodward. Survivors include her husband Danny of the home; son, Andy Rhoades and his wife Michelle of Lawrence, Kansas; five grandchildren, Abby, Russell, Chandler, Joel and Andy; brother, Joe Scott and his wife Patsy of Woodward, Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Norma Patton, Margie Adams and Marilyn Smith. The family suggests memorial contributions to Carolyn Sue Everson Memorial Fund c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
