Carolyn J. Quinn, age 66, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Monday, January 10, 2011, at Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas. She was born on Tuesday, August 15, 1944, in Salida, Colorado, the daughter of Charles and Rose (Marquis) Gregory. She was raised in Colorado. She also lived in Oklahoma prior to moving to Ottawa in the mid 1990’s. She worked for D.C.C.C.A. (Douglas County Citizens Committee on Alcoholism) in family preservation as a social worker/case manager in Franklin and Miami Counties from the mid 2000’s to her retirement in December of 2009. From the late 1990’s to the mid 2000’s, she worked as a case manager for C.O.F. (Coffey, Osage and Franklin County) Training Services in Ottawa. She attended Life Church in Olathe, Kansas. Survivors include a daughter, Charlene Papillion-Saffer and her husband, Anthony, of Miami, Oklahoma; son,Chuck Wilson and his wife, Rebecca, of White Pine, Colorado son,Paul Wilson and his wife, Paula, of Olathe, Kansas; daughter, Jeaneen Layton and her husband, Kurt, of Wellsville, Kansas; brother,Earnest Gregory and his wife, Sandy, of Olathe, Colorado; grandchild,Tyler Wilson,grandchild,Carrie Wilson,grandchild,Erica Layton,grandchild,Hannah Wilson,grandchild,Sarah Wilson. She is preceded in death by,parents,Charles and Rose Gregory; sister-Lorraine Erstad; sister,Virginia Putnam; sister,Rose Marie Wrase. SERVICES: Funeral Services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2011. IN STATE: Ms. Quinn will lie in state after 9:00 a.m. Saturday to the service hour at the Dengel & Son Mortuary, where the family will meet with friends from 1:00 to 2:00 Saturday afternoon prior to services. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery in Ottawa, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorial contributions to Carolyn Quinn Memorial Fund, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
