Carolyn Maxine (Cogburn) Thomas, age 61, of Richmond, Kan., died Friday, October 8, 2004, at her home. She grew up in Artesia, New Mexico, where she made her home, until moving to Richmond, Kansas in 2001. Carolyn graduated from Artesia (New Mexico) High School with the class of 1961. She was an administrative secretary for Dr. James E. Gaba in Artesia for nineteen years, and fifteen years for the Artesia Police Department. She worked for Wal-Mart in Ottawa for one year in the deli and as a cashier, retiring in 2002. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Artesia. On January 18, 1963, Carolyn was united in marriage with James D. Thomas at Artesia, New Mexico. He survives of their home. SERVICES: Memorial services will be held at a later date in New Mexico.
