Carole Rachel Weers

Carole Rachel Weers, age 69, of Paola, Kansas, passed away November 4, 2015 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. The third of 13 children, Carole was born on April 6, 1946 to J. C. and Rachel (Vazain) Shay in Gardner, Kansas. Growing up in the country, she attended school in Wellsville and graduated from Wellsville High School. On September 18, 1965 she was united in marriage to Darrrel C. Weers. They had four children and 10 grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart. Carole"s hobbies included crocheting, knitting, sewing, making crafts and playing games. Her favorite color was blue, although she admired many colors. In her spare time she loved to read books and spend time with her family. She also loved butterflies, ladybugs and scratcher tickets with dad. She had a smile and a hello for anyone and everyone and will be greatly missed. Carole was preceded in death by her husband Darrel, her parents, and two brothers Andrew and Danny. She is survived by son Darrel Weers; daughters Robin Roberts, Darla Roberts, and Lanie Wood; brothers John, Eddie, Mark, Dale, Rodney, and Scott Shay; sisters Janice Bird, Ginger Shay, Becky Shay, and Linda Brown; and 10 grandchildren. Dinner will follow the ceremony at Aunt Janice"s house, 604 W Wea St., Paola, KS 66071. Everyone is welcome.
