Carol Marlene Price

Carol Marlene Price, 90, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at Richmond Healthcare & Rehabilitation. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at Princeton Cemetery, Princeton. Carol was born January 17, 1931, in Louisburg, Kansas, the daughter of Walter and Annita (McCoy) Nelson. She lived in Louisburg, moving in the early 1950’s to Ottawa. She graduated from Louisburg High School with the class of 1948. Carol was united in marriage to William Donald “Don” Price June 30, 1956. Carol worked various jobs in Ottawa including the Ottawa Middle School USD 290 as a secretary in the 1970’s; Ottawa Truck clerical in the late 1970’s; City of Ottawa clerical in the 1980’s to early 1990’s; Walmart Pharmacy and door greeter; and retired from the Ottawa Library where she worked at the desk in the late 2000’s. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Ottawa. Carol loved to read and write. She also loved animals and was very passionate about animal rights. Carol also loved to grow flowers. She especially loved her family and enjoyed doting on her grandsons and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband William Price; son Stephen Price; her parents and brother Roger Nelson; and grandson Jason Price. Survivors include her daughter Joan Frank of Oklahoma; four grandsons, Joshua Price and wife Courtney, Jeffrey Price, Don Foster, and Mike Foster, all of Ottawa; great-grandchildren, Donnie and Samuel Foster, Charles and Dakota Foster, Emma and Ethan Price, Kaitlyn and Kadence Price, Jason Robert Price and Ashlyn Price; sister Jacklyn Thomas of Louisburg; daughter-in-law Deb Price and husband Kelly Tippets of Richmond; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
