Carol Ann Elliott

Carol Ann Elliott, 74, of Paola, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Carol Ann Elliott was born June 1,1940 in Keokuk, Iowa. Her life changed the day she married the love of her life, Jerry, on May 26, 1972. Growing up as an only child did not prepare her for the four children that were part of the package! The bond between them could not have been stronger had she birthed the lot. Carol was a Master Gardner and enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking, canning, sewing, reading, playing cards, square dancing, and traveling, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her husband, Jerry Elliott, of Paola, Kansas; two sons Darrel (Kay) and Bob Elliott both of Liberty, Missouri; two daughters, Phyllis (Mike) Rosales of Kansas City, Missouri, and Judy (Andy) Goetting of Lawrence, Kansas; nine grandchildren: Michelle Gordon, Chad, Stacey, Jake, and Brandon Elliott, Mike, Danny, and Erin Rosales, Katie Goetting; and two great granddaughters, Hali Gordon and Ruby Rosales. A person dies twice in their life. Once when their physical body ceases and the second when their name is spoken for the last time. Although Carol"s body has died, she has not left us. We will keep her alive in our hearts and minds by celebrating the love she shared.
