Carmenita Ann (Dodson) Madrid, age 88, Ottawa, KS, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Care Center, Olathe, KS. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday November 7, 2018 with the Rosary prayed at 6:30 p.m. at Dengel and Son Mortuary, Ottawa, KS. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church 555 W. Main St. Gardner, KS. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas. The family suggests contributions to Divine Mercy Church, Gardner, Kansas or Great Plains SPCA. Carmenita was born September 15, 1930 in Lowry City, MO, the daughter of Orville and Isabelle Zeta (VanPatten) Dodson. She was united in marriage to Anthony Augustine Madrid. She attended St. Aloysius Catholic Girls School. She worked for Sears, Marion Merrell Dow and Walmart before retiring. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sons, Anthony Augustine Madrid, Jr., John Dominic Madrid and Daniel Anthony Madrid; one sister, Russie Dodson Harris and three brothers, Russell, Elmer and George Dodson. Survivors include three daughters, Etta Marie (George) Karnaze, Vivianna Diane (James) Madrid-Whyte and Gloria Anne Reichling-Madrid; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Robert (Pam) Dodson.
