Carmen Leigh Behm, 52, of rural Fontana, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at K.U. Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Dengel & Son Mortuary-Crematory, 305 N. Pearl Street, Paola, KS, 66071. Family will meet with friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday, May 27, 2019 at the funeral home. Carmen was born Sunday, October 2, 1966, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Darrell D. and Madine (Downen) Harrington. She graduated from Paola High School with the Class of 1985. She attended Brown Mackie College where she earned her associate degree. Carmen was united in marriage to Ed Behm on May 25, 1985 at Paola. They became the parents of four daughters. Carmen had worked as a paraprofessional for Prairie View School at LaCygne. She had also worked as a facility director for Vintage Park Assisted Living in Osawatomie. She loved to crochet and knit, making gifts for many family members and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Watching her grandchildren in their rodeo events was another favorite pastime. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Survivors include four daughters Pamela Johnston (Luke) of Amsterdam, MO, Kari Brandt (Shawn) of Parker, Samantha Lemaster (Mike) of McPherson, and Hannah Behm and her fiance Jason Rone of rural Fontana; three grandchildren Addison, Cash, and Bronc Johnston; two sisters Sharon Martin of Melrose, FL and Karen Bing of Gardner, KS; her brother Darren Harrington of Osawatomie; many other relatives and friends. The family suggests memorial contributions to Miami County Cancer Foundation, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary-Crematory, 305 North Pearl Street, Paola, KS 66071.
