Bryan Scott Sherfey age 55, of Louisburg, KS departed on July 31, 2013. He was born October 26, 1957 in Kansas City, Kansas the son of Bernard Sherfey and Ruth Douthitt Seamon. Bryan was united in marriage to Becki Cutshaw on October 23, 1976 in Louisburg, KS. Bryan was discharged from the U.S. Navy in March 1976. He received his GED in 1980. He graduated from Electronics Institutes in 1999 with a degree in telecommunications and micro processing. He also received a degree in HVAC from Kansas City Technical Institute. Bryan worked at Honeywell for twenty three years as a sheet metal fabricator and electronic technician. He worked for Marley Cooling Tower as a lead process brake operator and equipment programmer. He was a contract driver for FED EX as an independent owner operator. He did property maintenance for Summerfield Village and most recently returned to his passion of driving a semi for Gully transportation. As a young boy, Bryan was a member of the Miami County 4H and received many awards and was especially proud of his bug collection which he and his mother spent many hours gathering. He was a member of the CWA Union and served as a steward. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and National Rifle Association. Bryan grew up a Baptist and knew the Bible and talked of God"s work. He was a good Christian man and would do anything for anyone. Bryan was a very loving husband, son and brother and could always light up a room with his presence and his wonderful stories. He had an enormous passion for cooking and was always preparing meals and dishes for family and friends to enjoy. Bryan loved being outdoors, fishing, camping and traveling with Becki. He looked forward to each year of mushroom hunting with his dad, walking the woods and just sitting on the stumps and talking. He looked forward to the 4th of July and all the fireworks. He loved going and purchasing them and shooting them off and going to annual fireworks display. He loved sharing and recounting stories of different times of the families lives and could remember dates proficiently in all facets of World American History and was a huge science fiction fan. Bryan loved the Sherfey family reunions, playing cards with his family members. He loved food, fun and antics that just had to happen for the Sherfey family at those reunions. Bryan touched many lives and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him, especially his best friend and loving wife, Becki who Bryan adored, cared for and provided for, for almost forty years. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Dana, father, Bernard Sherfey and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Survivors include his loving wife, Becki of the home; mother, Ruth Seamon of Louisburg, KS; stepmother, Sharon Sherfey, Gladstone, MO; brother"s Earl and Chris Templeton, Kansas City, MO; Doug Templeton of Virginia and Mark Sherfey, Larned, KS. Memorial contributions can be made to his wife Becki Sherfey.
