Bruce E. Waymire, age 57, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012. He was born on Tuesday, November 23, 1954, in Olathe, Kansas, the son of Donald and Norma (Page) Waymire. He was a near lifelong resident of Ottawa, also living in Emporia, Kansas. Bruce graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1973. Bruce has done exterior remodeling since 1978. Since 1993, he has owned and operated Waymire & Son Siding & Windows. He was previously involved with the family business, Waymire’s Grocery. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Ottawa and former member of the Optimist organization of Emporia and Ottawa Lodge #18, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons. Bruce was united in marriage with Becky DePriest. They were later divorced. On Friday, June 1, 1984, Bruce was united in marriage with Kathleen McCord-Waymire in Emporia, Kansas. She survives of their home. He is also survived by his: Parents – Don and Norma Waymire of Ottawa, Kansas; Son – Colton Waymire and his fiancé, Hailey, of Ottawa, Kansas; Daughter – Abbi Watts and her husband, Justin, of Ottawa, Kansas; Son – Clint Arndt and his fiancé, Charisse, of St. Petersburg, Florida; Sister – Susan Crowley and her husband, Mark, of Independence, Missouri; Grandchild – Calle Arndt; Grandchild – Tyler Arndt; Grandchild – Allison Arndt; Grandchild – Jackson Watts; Grandchild – Kale Watts and Grandchild – Halynn Watts. He is preceded in death by his Brother – Mark P. Waymire; Maternal Grandparents – George A. and Fay (Hoopes) Page and Paternal Grandparents – Olin W. and Thelma (Davis) Waymire. SERVICES: A brief Celebration of Life Services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2012. Family will meet with friends following services. Mr. Waymire’s wishes were cremation with his cremains scattered at Beaver Lake in Arkansas.
