Brenda Lee (Welch) Wilker, 56, of Lenexa, Kansas, formerly of Princeton, Kansas, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014, due to complications from diabetes. Brenda’s wishes were to be cremated. Private family burial will be held in San Francisco, California. Brenda was born on Sunday, September 15, 1957 in Leesville, Louisiana, the daughter of Glenn F. Welch and Sonya Jo (Anderson) McCarthy. She lived in Lenexa for ten years, moving from San Francisco, where she lived from 1975 to 2003. She graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School, Shawnee Mission, Kansas, with the class of 1975. She later became a licensed stock broker. In 1982 Brenda was united in marriage with Tom Wilker in San Francisco though they later divorced. Brenda worked as a stock broker for Piper Jaffray in San Francisco as well as several other companies in the San Francisco area. Survivors include her son, Mark Wilker of San Francisco; daughter, P. J. Wilker of California; one granddaughter, Natasha Henderson; mother, Jo McCarthy of Shawnee Mission; siblings, Buddy Welch and wife Shelly of Princeton, Dan Welch and wife Cheryl of Osawatomie, and Corky Mills and Kim Bolen also of Osawatomie.
