Bradley S. Wheat, 58, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, August 9, 2019, at his home after a long illness. The family will greet friends from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, August 15th, at the mortuary with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery with military honors by the United States Navy and Paola American Legion Riders Post 156. Brad was born January 20, 1961 to Leslie “Butch” and Barbara (Gilmore) Wheat. He became the oldest of 4 sisters and 7 brothers for which he was very proud. On March 8, 1980, Brad married Teresa Elder. They lived in many locations throughout the country some while Brad was in the Navy. Brad attended DeVry University with a degree in electronics. He worked for the Sony Corporation. They returned to Ottawa in 1994. Survivors include his wife Teresa of Ottawa; three daughters, Tinika and Steve Krehbiel of Ottawa, Summer and Curtis Baker and Brandi and Brent Randel all of Richmond; and son, Sam Wheat of Bali, Indonesia; five grandchildren, Jackalynn Kirk, Breanna, Brooklynn and Bryden Randel, and Emma Baker. He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie “Butch” Wheat; mother, Barbara (Gilmore) Markus; sister, Christina Wheat; two brothers, Kevin Wheat and Tony Markus; and several grandparents; sister-in-law, Joyce Vogeler; and nephew Eric Finch.
