Bonnie Louise Rice, 84, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe. She was born June 8, 1922, in Coffey County to Jessie Clayton Brock and Nellie Mable (Bennett) Brock Lucas. She lived in Pomona from 1940 until moving to Olathe in May 2000 and to Gardner in 2001. She graduated from Citrus Heights High School, Orangevale, Calif., in 1940. She worked as a cook for Pomona Grade School from 1951 to 1959 and at Parmalee Products in Ottawa until retiring in 1980. She married Marlin J. Rice June 17, 1940, at Ottawa. He survives. Survivors also include her son, Gary D. Rice, Gardner; daughters, Judy K. Youngs, Yuma, Ariz., and Marla S. Sloop, Ottawa; sisters, Marie Rice, Orangevale, Calif., Rosa Landenberger, Overland Park, Bessie Patterson, Citrus Heights, Calif., and Josephine Rose, Clarksburg, Calif.; six grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Rice; brothers, Leslie D. Brock and Jessie C. Brock, Jr. and a grandson. SERVICES: Graveside inurnment services will be at held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2006, at Central Cemetery. IN STATE: Mrs. Rice has been cremated. CEMETERY: Central Cemetery, Franklin County, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorial contributions to Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Hospital of Gardner, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
