Bonnie Lou Gibbons, 86, of Ottawa passed away Saturday, December 5th, 2020, at Olathe Medical Center. Bonnie was born July 4, 1934 in Ottawa, Kansas. She was the daughter of Wayne Anderson and Dora Mae (Goodrich) Anderson. She was a native Franklin County resident and enjoyed her entire life there. She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1951. She was united in marriage to Francis Gibbons March 11, 1976 at Miami, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on August 1st, 2016. Francis was a World War II veteran and owned and operated Gibbons Auto Salvage for years. She is survived by her children, Charles Edwin Brink of Kansas City, Lowell Dean Brink of Kansas City, and Connie Sue (Brink) Payne of Denver, Colorado. Bonnie is also survived by her brothers Duane Anderson of Ottawa, David E Anderson of Overbrook, and Jeanie Patterson of Ottawa. She was also blessed with 5 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Bonnie loved nature and was known for her beautiful garden and the butterflies the flowers attracted. She was featured in several newspaper articles for her work incorporating butterflies and dried flowers into lovely art. She could often be found in her yard working among her flowers and tending to her Iris. Bonnie was a member of the First Baptist Church and a lifelong child of God. It is fun to imagine her giving pointers to God on how to improve the gardens in heaven. Cards and tributes can be sent to her nephew Michael Anderson c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary.
