Boby Eugene Patton, a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on January 22, 2025, at Richmond Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Richmond, Kansas. He was 87 years old. Born on September 29, 1937, in Pittsburg, Kansas, Boby was the son of Orbie J. Patton and Nellie W. (Jones) Skinner.
Boby's formative years were spent in Raytown, Missouri, where he graduated from Raytown High School as part of the class of 1956. He furthered his education by attending Central Missouri State, laying a foundation that would lead to a rewarding career. Boby dedicated thirty-five years of his life to working as a foreman for Arm Co. Steel in Kansas City, Missouri, a role in which he took immense pride. He retired in 1984, having made meaningful contributions to both the company and his colleagues.
In 1959, Boby was united in marriage to Kay Crider. In 1976, he found love again and married Nancy Arnold, with whom he shared many cherished memories until her passing in 2018.
Boby was proud to call Lee's Summit, Missouri, home since 1975, having moved there from Ruskin, Missouri. He embraced the community fully, enriching his life with both friends and family. His interests included bowling, fishing, and visits to the casino, but perhaps most importantly, he cherished the time spent with his family and grandchildren.
Boby is survived by his daughters JoAnna Helm (Daryl) of Garnett, Kansas, Janice Elgin (Ron) of Bullard, Texas, and Angie Goff (Rob) of Shawnee Park, Kansas; his sons Mark Patton of Independence, Missouri, and Mike Patton (Cindy) of Mayflower, Arkansas; and his sisters Donna Jean Metzger of Laurie, Missouri, Pam McCoy of Monrovia, Maryland, and Charline Weatherford of Vail, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, his parents, his sister Mary Peirce, and his brother Beach Skinner and his beloved friend and ex-wife Kay.
Boby Eugene Patton will be remembered as a devoted family man and a hard-working individual whose legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren. His spirit and warmth will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Cremation is planned with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
