Bob E. Crawford, 79, of Ottawa, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at Highland Cemetery. Mr. Crawford will lie in state from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Bob was born Sunday, July 24, 1938, in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of E. E. “Bus” and Marian A. (Crane) Crawford. He was a near lifelong Franklin County resident, living in Pomona and Ottawa. He graduated from Pomona High School with the class of 1956. Bob served in the Kansas Army National Guard where he obtained the rank of sergeant. Bob was united in marriage to Leah Owen August 4, 1961 at First United Methodist Church, Ottawa. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his son, Roger Crawford of Melvern; two sisters, Susan Goracke of Ottawa and Carol Ann Bulmer and husband Russell also of Ottawa; four grandchildren, Bree Crawford, Brody Crawford, Tayler Sitlington and Chantel Swinehart; and two great grandchildren, Honestti Brooks and Kount Barsch. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stacy Crawford; and parents, Bus & Marian Crawford. Bob was employed twenty years as a retail manager for Ottawa COOP and was later the owner/operator of American Muffler from 1982 to 2009. After his retirement, Bob was employed part-time in the Public Works Department. For over 30 years Bob and Leah worked together at the Wildlife and Parks at Pomona Lake State Park. He attended the Pomona United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Aerie Lodge 2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ottawa. Bob enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting and traveling.
