Blanche Shofner

Blanche M. Shofner, 87, of Paola, Kansas passed away March 6, 2013, at her home. Blanche was born November 25, 1925 to Wood and Opha Dale (Smith) Cain in Huntsville, Arkansas. She graduated from Huntsville High School in 1944 and worked as a bookkeeper at the University of Arkansas. She then worked as a clerk at Woolsworth in Fayetteville until 1961. She was united in marriage to Joe Daniel Shofner on April 7, 1961 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Together they farmed and raised their family. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, gardening, and fishing. She liked to watch and listen to baseball, football and auto racing. Being on the farm, she also enjoyed raising cattle and being outdoors. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Joe. She is survived by her sons Stan and Van Shofner, both of Paola, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to Plum Creek United Methodist Church.
