Billy Max Dedrick

Billy Dedrick, age 64, of the Somerset Community in rural Paola, Kansas, passed away May 3, 2020. Billy was the second of five sons born to Harold F. and Shirley June (Dicke) Dedrick. He was born on September 27, 1955 at Paola, Kansas. He grew up in Miami County and attended Paola High School graduating with the Class of 1974. Billy worked from 1974 until 1990 for the City of Leawood as a lead inspector. He then worked for Miami County Lumber for several years. His last employment was with Paola High School as the lead custodian from 2000 until he retired in July of 2019. His interests included sail boating, fishing, camping, hunting. He was an avid outdoorsman. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Harold Jr. and Richard, and his step-father Dan Wilson. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Justin and Courtney Dedrick of Olathe; two brothers Rusty Dedrick of Kincaid, Kansas and Kenneth "Joe" Dedrick (Joanne) of Olathe; three grandchildren Kyson Peknik, Paige Peknik, and Keagan Nicole Dedrick; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
