Billy H. Peterson

Billy H. Peterson, 67 of Paola, Kansas, died May 16, 2011 with his family by his side. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the First Baptist Church 20 East Wea Street Paola, Kansas. Burial to follow in the Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 " 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Penwell " Gabel Paola Chapel. Billy was born April 1, 1944 in Fort Scott, Kansas the son of Willis and Verna Likeley Peterson. He attended School in the Fort Scott area and then went on to serve two years in the United States Army National Guard. He married Susan Adams in May of 1967, together they raised four children. He worked construction for more than twenty five years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding horses, bowling, gardening and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Susan, granddaughter Lindsey Wolverton, and brother, Pat Peterson. He is survived by three daughters; Karen Wolverton and husband Ron of Osawatomie, KS; Judy Lee and husband Robert of North Canton, Ohio; Tracie Pressgrove and husband Jake of Lee"s Summit, MO; One son, Scott Peterson of Paola, KS; three brothers, Sonny Peterson, Frank Peterson of Fort Scott, KS; Von Peterson of Adrian, MO; three sisters, Marge Madison, Mary Lou Schaffer and Sissy Mix of Fort Scott, KS. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Kansas City Hospice House.
