Billy Dean Rinehart, 88, of Ottawa, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Cremation is planned with no services at this time. A get-together for family and friends to celebrate Bill’s life will be held later. Bill was born on January 20, 1931 in Humboldt, Kansas the son of Charles W. and Mary Mae Rinehart. He graduated from Humboldt High School with the class of 1949. He lived seventeen years in Ottawa, thirty-two years in Emporia, returning to Ottawa in 1997. On Saturday, April 15, 1950, Bill was united in marriage to Marianne Serl at Iola, Kansas. She survives of the home. Other survivors include two sons, Terry D. Rinehart and wife Karen of Emporia, and Steven L. Rinehart and wife Vicki of Spring Hill; three grandsons, Eric Rinehart and wife Angela and four children, Noah, Matthew, Melody and Aleena all of Russell, Brett Rinehart and wife Angela and daughter Riley all of Chanute, and Luke Rinehart and wife Becca and daughter Summer all of Mission; and sister, Lois Rinehart of Iola. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Rinehart; brother, Melvin Rinehart; four sisters, Enid Ahring, Margaret Pulliam, Reba Fiene, and Dorothy Scott; and great granddaughter, Erica Rinehart. He worked from 1949 until 1966 as a printer for Tallman Printing in Ottawa and thirty-two years as a printer for Emporia State University, retiring in 1993. Bill liked the outdoors and playing golf with his sons. He always enjoyed family gatherings and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
