Bill D. Cuthbertson

June 10, 1934 — March 27, 2013

Billy Dean Cuthbertson was born June 10, 1934 in Hillsdale, Kansas to Jacob "Art" and Nina Cuthbertson. He had two sisters Barbara Plummer and Delores Newton. He graduated from Spring Hill High School. Billy Dean was chosen "Kansas All League Player". Bill worked on the family farm. In 1953 he met his beloved wife Shirley May Kern and they were married February 6, 1954. They had three sons together Phillip Eugene, David Lynn, and Chris Arthur Cuthbertson. Bill loved his family and much too soon lost their youngest and oldest sons. David Lynn gave them three granddaughters Jennifer, Michelle, and Amy. Bill and Shirley moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico to be near their son David Lynn and wife Daisy Cuthbertson. After caring for them for six years at the family home, Bill and Shirley moved to Landsun Homes Retirement Center. Within a week, they both were settled and at home. Billy Dean passed March 27, 2013 with his wife at his side. Bill is survived by his wife Shirley; son David Lynn and wife Daisy; three granddaughters; seven great grandchildren and one on the way. A beautiful memorial service was held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Landsun Homes with Larry Kruger as Chaplin. Residents and staff all told stories of Bill who was known and loved by all. Thank you to the love and care Bill received from Landsun Hospice.
