Bill D. Baldwin, 88, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Ransom Memorial Hospital. Cremation is planned and private family graveside inurnment service will be held at Highland Cemetery at a later date. Bill was born Saturday, August 11, 1928, in Independence, Missouri, the son of Ernest and Ada (Miller) Baldwin. He was a lifelong Ottawa resident. He graduated from Ottawa High School and attended Ottawa University. Bill was united in marriage to Margie Hoskinson July 11, 1948, in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. She preceded him in death on August 3, 2015. Bill was a lifelong farmer and also ran a milk route. He was a charter member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include his three children, Richard H. Baldwin of Wichita, David M. Baldwin and wife Debbie of Wellsville, and Jane K. Bones and husband Paul of Ottawa; five grandchildren, Lee Baldwin, William Baldwin, Hallie Bones Nelson, Elsie Bones, and Bailee Bones; and one great-granddaughter, Landry Baldwin. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Ada Baldwin; and brother, Marvin Miller Baldwin.
