Beverly Ann Turner was born on Wednesday, March 9, 1932, in Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas. She was the daughter of Claude Everett and Mina Marie (Adcock) Chapman. A lifelong resident, Beverly made her home in Ottawa until her death on Saturday, February 11, 2012, at the age of seventy-nine years. Beverly graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1950. She was a homemaker. She was also employed as an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company from 1950 to 1953. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Ottawa and a previous member of their Altar Society. Beverly donated countless hours to Sacred Heart Church and School functions. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also took good care of her aunts in their later years. She enjoyed baking, creating lovely flower arrangements, playing cards with her friends and family, and visiting with her friends at BK. She also loved traveling and going to Dinner Theaters. On Saturday, May 5, 1951, Beverly was united in marriage with Frederick Lester Turner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa. He preceded her in death on January 7, 1994. She is also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Kenneth Eugene Chapman and Everett Lee Chapman. Beverly is survived by her daughter, Debbie Hough and her husband, Durwin, of Ottawa, Kansas; two sons, Roger Turner and his wife, Jayne, of Ottawa, Kansas, Gary Turner and his fiancé, Wanda, of Ottawa, Kansas; ten grandchildren, Tim Hough, Kevin Hough, Melissa Trenary, Devin Turner, Bryan Turner, Jessica Caryl, Melanie Hester, Brooklyn Green, Shawn Turner, Shelly Turner; and twelve great-grandchildren, Brandon Hough, Colton Hough, Jordan Hough, Gavin Hough, Karsen Hough, Evan Hough, Emily Hough, Caden Trenary, Logan Trenary, Lillie Caryl, Mathew Caryl, and Kaleb Turner. SERVICES: A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa. IN STATE: Mrs. Turner will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday, where a Rosary will be said at 6:30 Monday evening followed by family visitation from 7:00 to 8:00. CEMETERY: Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Ottawa, Kansas.
